The Godwin Presbyterian Church started in May 1904. It grew from a Sunday School that began even earlier, in 1889. The first church building could seat 200 people. Sadly, it burned down in 1934.

While a new church was being built, the members were invited to share the building of the Godwin Baptist Church. The new Godwin Presbyterian Church was finished in 1937. Every October, the church holds an annual homecoming event. The church grounds also have a "friendship garden" that is open for everyone to enjoy.
