Golden Eagle is a popular American syrup! It's made by the Golden Eagle Syrup Manufacturing Company in Fayette, Alabama. This sweet syrup is a favorite for many families, especially in the Southeastern United States.

The Story of Golden Eagle Syrup

Golden Eagle Syrup started way back in 1928. It was founded by Victor and Lucy Patterson in Fayette, Alabama. Victor wanted to make a gentle syrup that wouldn't upset his stomach.

Back then, maple syrup wasn't easy to find. So, Victor created Golden Eagle syrup using a mix of cane sugar, corn syrup, molasses, and honey.

Why the Name "Golden Eagle"?

The syrup got its name from the amazing Golden eagle bird. The syrup's color reminded them of the eagle's golden feathers. Plus, an eagle flies high above the ground, just like they hoped their syrup would soar in popularity!

Where It's Made

At first, the Pattersons made the syrup right in their backyard. But soon, lots of people wanted it! By 1944, they needed a bigger space. They bought an old grocery warehouse in downtown Fayette.

Today, the syrup is still made in that very same building! Workers produce the syrup on Tuesdays and Thursdays. They make about 500 gallons of syrup each production day. That's a lot of sweetness!

The company stayed in the Patterson family until 1986. After a few different owners, Temple Bowling and John Blevins bought it in 2011.

Golden Eagle in Sports

Golden Eagle Syrup also supports sports! In 2020, they started sponsoring stock car racing driver Bret Holmes. He races in the ARCA Menards Series. The brand also sponsored a second-place team in the 2022 Dixie Softball World Series.
