The Golden Noble is a type of apple that has been grown in England for a long time. It's especially good for cooking. When you cook it, it turns into a sweet puree, which is perfect for making apple sauce.

The apples start out light green and become a beautiful golden yellow when they are ripe. They are very juicy, which makes them great for apple cider. The cider made from Golden Noble apples has a nice mix of tart and sweet flavors. Some people also enjoy eating these apples fresh because they taste good.

How the Golden Noble Apple Was Found

The Golden Noble apple was first discovered by chance. It grew from a chance seedling near Downham Market in Norfolk, England. Patrick Flanagan, who was the head gardener for Sir Thomas Hare, found it.

In 1820, Mr. Flanagan showed this new apple to the Horticultural Society of London. This helped the Golden Noble apple become known and grown by others.

Growing Golden Noble Apples

The Golden Noble apple tree is a good choice for gardens. It grows in a neat and tidy way. The tree also produces beautiful flowers, which makes it a nice addition to any garden.

In 1993, the Royal Horticultural Society gave the Golden Noble apple its Award of Garden Merit. This award means it's an excellent plant for gardening. These apples contain about 12% sugar, 18 grams per liter of acid, and 24 milligrams of Vitamin C per 100 grams.

Family Tree of Apples

The Golden Noble apple is an important ancestor for another well-known apple. It is one of the parent apples for the Edward VII apple. This shows how different apple types are connected through their history.
