Golinda is a small city located in the state of Texas, in the United States. It is found across two counties: Falls County and McLennan County.
In 2020, a count of the population (called a census) showed that 618 people lived in Golinda. This was more than the 559 people counted in 2010. Golinda is also part of the larger Waco area, which is a group of cities and towns connected by their economy.
Where is Golinda?
Golinda is mostly located in the northern part of Falls County. However, a small part of the city also reaches into the southern area of McLennan County.
A main road called U.S. Route 77 goes through Golinda. This road can take you about 13 miles (21 km) north to the city of Waco. If you travel south on the same road, you will reach Cameron, which is about 38 miles (61 km) away.
The city of Golinda covers a total area of about 4.06 square miles (10.51 square kilometers). Most of this area is land, with only a very small part (about 0.04 square miles or 0.10 square kilometers) being water.
