Gonzalo Morales Sáurez (born July 9, 1945 – died December 22, 2017) was a famous painter from Costa Rica. He was known for his amazing hyper-realistic art. This means his paintings looked almost exactly like real photographs! He showed his incredible artwork in many museums and art galleries across Europe and the Americas.

Early Life and Education
Gonzalo Morales Sáurez was born in San José, Costa Rica, in 1945. Art ran in his family, as his father, Gonzalo Morales Alvarado, was also a painter. Gonzalo learned a lot about art from his dad when he was young.
Later, he traveled to Spain to continue his art studies. He went to the Royal Academy of Arts in Madrid. He also studied at the School of Murals in San Cugat, Barcelona. These schools helped him become the skilled artist he was.

Gonzalo Morales's paintings are displayed in many different countries. You can find his works in places like Spain, France, the USA, Mexico, and several countries in Central and South America. These include Guatemala, Honduras, El Salvador, Nicaragua, Panama, Colombia, and Venezuela.
