Goose Lake, also known as Lone Pine, is a very small community in northwest Alberta, Canada. It is called a hamlet, which is a type of small village. Goose Lake is part of Woodlands County.
This community is located about 37 kilometers (23 miles) northeast of Highway 43. It is also about 136 kilometers (85 miles) northwest of Edmonton, a major city in Alberta.
Why it's Called Lone Pine
Goose Lake is often known by another name: Lone Pine. This name comes from a former post office and store called the Lone Pine Store. This store was located near the intersection of Highway 658 and Township Road 614B. This road is important because it leads to the hamlet and the Goose Lake Campground.
