The Governor of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is like the main representative of the President in the province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan. Think of them as the official head of the province. Even though they are important, their job is mostly ceremonial. The real power to make decisions usually rests with the Chief Minister and the Chief Secretary.
Sometimes, the governor's powers become much stronger. This happens when the local government (called the provincial assembly) is temporarily closed down. During these times, the governor takes charge of running the province directly. This has happened a few times in Pakistan's history, like during certain periods of martial law or "governor rules." For example, in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, governors took direct control in 1975 and 1994.
