History of Green Isle
Green Isle was officially started in 1881. Before that, a railroad track was built through the area around 1880. This track was part of the Minneapolis and St. Louis Railway.
The town got its name from the township it was in. The name "Green Isle" reminds people of Ireland, often called the "Emerald Isle." This is because many of the first people who settled here came from Ireland.
