History of Greenleaf
Greenleaf was first planned out in 1859 by a person named William Henry Greenleaf. When a town is "plattted," it means its streets, blocks, and lots are officially mapped out. The community was named after him. William Henry Greenleaf was also a State Senator, which means he was an elected official who helped make laws for the state of Minnesota.
A post office was opened in Greenleaf in 1860. This post office helped people send and receive mail for many years. However, it eventually closed down in 1906.
