Greensboro is a small town in Gadsden County, Florida. It is part of the larger Tallahassee area. In 2020, about 461 people lived there. This was a decrease from 602 people in 2010.

History of Greensboro
Greensboro began in 1895 when J.W. Green bought a large piece of land. He built a home and a farm there. He also opened a post office and named it "Green's" after his land.
In 1907, the Apalachicola Northern Railroad built a train depot on his property. This made Green decide to plan out his land into a town. To "plat" land means to draw a map showing how it will be divided into streets and lots.
Finally, in 1911, the town was officially named the "Town of Greensboro". This name honored J.W. Green, who started it all.
Geography and Location
Greensboro is located in the western part of Gadsden County. Its exact location is 30°34′10″N 84°44′40″W / 30.56944°N 84.74444°W.
The town is near Gretna to the northeast. Florida State Road 12 goes right through the middle of Greensboro. This road leads east about 10 miles to Quincy, which is the main city of the county. It also goes southwest about 18 miles to Bristol.
Interstate 10 (Exit 174) is about 3 miles east of Greensboro. I-10 can take you east about 29 miles to Tallahassee, the capital city of Florida.
The United States Census Bureau says Greensboro covers about 2.6 square kilometers (1 square mile) of land. There is no water area within the town limits.

The town has a diverse population. In 2020, about 24.3% of the people were White. About 26.9% were Black or African American. A significant part of the population, about 46.2%, identified as Hispanic or Latino. There were also a small number of Asian residents.
Education in Greensboro
The Gadsden County School District runs the public schools in Greensboro.
- Greensboro Elementary School serves younger students. This building used to be Greensboro High School.
- West Gadsden Middle School is for middle school students. In 2017, this school was renamed. Grades 4 and 5 moved here from the elementary school.
- Gadsden County High School (formerly East Gadsden High School) is where high school students attend.
The Earl Willis Community Center in Greensboro has a library. This is a great place for students to find books and learn.
