History of GEM

Grenoble Ecole de Management has a rich history of teaching business.

  • 1984: The school was founded as Groupe ESC Grenoble. It was one of the first French business schools to focus on how technology is managed.
  • 1993: GEM started the first Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) program in France. This program helps people get a high-level degree in business.
  • 2000: The school received its first big award, the EQUIS accreditation. This showed it was one of the best business schools in Europe.
  • 2003: Groupe ESC Grenoble changed its name to Grenoble Ecole de Management (GEM).

  • 2008: GEM became a founding member of the GIANT Innovation Campus. This is a big science and technology center in Grenoble.
