History of Grove City

Grove City was first planned out in 1886. This planning is called "platting," where maps are made to divide land into lots. A post office was opened in Grove City in 1887. It served the community for many years before closing in 1910.

Grove City is located in the western part of Charlotte County, Florida. Its exact coordinates are 26.911966 degrees north and -82.324933 degrees west.

It shares borders with other nearby communities. To the north, you'll find Englewood. To the west, across Lemon Bay, is Manasota Key. Lemon Bay is a part of the Gulf of Mexico. To the southeast of Grove City is Rotonda West.
