Gunzgen is a small town, also called a municipality, located in the Olten area of Solothurn canton in Switzerland. It's a charming place with a mix of nature and modern life.

History of Gunzgen
Gunzgen is quite old! It was first mentioned in official records way back in 1226. Back then, it was called Gunzichon. Later, in 1320, its name changed slightly to Gunzkon.
Geography and Landscape
Gunzgen covers an area of about 3.94 square kilometers (about 1.5 square miles). A large part of this land, almost half, is used for farming. About a quarter of the area is covered by forests.
The rest of the land is where buildings and roads are. A small part is rivers or lakes. Gunzgen is located in the Olten district, in a region called Mittelgäu. It sits along the Dünnern river. The town's boundaries changed a bit between 1933 and 1943 because of a project to fix the Dünnern River.
Gunzgen is a linear village, meaning it stretches out along a road. There's also a smaller part of the town called Allmend. This part is separated from the main village by two major highways, the A1 and A2 motorways.
Gunzgen's Coat of Arms
Every town has a special symbol called a coat of arms. Gunzgen's coat of arms shows an oak tree with leaves and acorns on a silver background. Below that, on a blue background, there's a golden mill wheel. This design likely represents the nature and history of the area.
