Hadjer-Lamis (Arabic: حجر لميس) is one of the 23 regions of Chad, a country in central Africa. It is located in the southwest part of Chad. The main city and capital of Hadjer-Lamis is called Massakory. This region used to be part of an older area known as Chari-Baguirmi.

Exploring the Geography of Hadjer-Lamis
The Hadjer-Lamis region shares its borders with several other areas in Chad. To the north, it is next to the Lac, Kanem, and Bahr el Gazel regions. To the east, you will find the Batha and Guéra regions.
In the south, it borders the Chari-Baguirmi region and the capital city, N'Djamena. To the west, it is next to Cameroon, another country. The very northwest part of Hadjer-Lamis also touches the famous Lake Chad.

Massakory is the capital city of the Hadjer-Lamis region. Other important towns and settlements include Bokoro, Gama, Karal, Massaguet, Moïto, N'Djamena Fara and Tourba.

According to a census taken in 2009, the total population in the Hadjer-Lamis region was 562,957 people. Slightly more than half of the population, 50.1%, were females.
The average size of families or households in 2009 was about 5 people. This was true for both rural areas (countryside) and urban areas (cities). Most people, 559,339, lived in private homes.
Main Ethnic Groups in Hadjer-Lamis
The main groups of people living in Hadjer-Lamis are the Kanembu, Buduma, Dazaga Tubou, Kanuri, Malgbe, and Mpade people. Each group has its own unique language and traditions.
