Exploring Haggart Lake

Haggart Lake is found in a lovely area of Central Ontario. It stretches across two local areas. These are the municipalities of Georgian Bay and Muskoka Lakes.

Where is Haggart Lake Located?

The eastern part of Haggart Lake is in the municipality of Muskoka Lakes. The rest of the lake is in the municipality of Georgian Bay. This means the lake is shared between these two communities.

How Water Moves Through Haggart Lake

Water flows into Haggart Lake from three small streams. These streams do not have names. They enter the lake from the west, northwest, and north sides. The main way water leaves the lake is through Haggart Creek. This creek starts at the eastern end of the lake. Haggart Creek then flows into the Moon River. Finally, the Moon River carries the water to Georgian Bay on Lake Huron.

Railway Near the Lake

A railway line runs along the eastern shore of Haggart Lake. This is the Canadian Pacific Railway main line. It follows the edge of the lake, adding to the scenery.
