The Story of Haldiram's
Haldiram's began a long time ago in 1937. It started as a small shop in Bikaner, Rajasthan. This shop sold sweets and savory snacks called namkeen. The company was founded by Ganga Bishan Agarwal. People knew him as Haldiram Ji.
To grow bigger, Haldiram's opened its first factory in Calcutta (now Kolkata). Later, in 1970, a larger factory was built in Jaipur. In the early 1990s, another factory opened in New Delhi.
Around 2003, the company started making easy-to-prepare foods. These are often called "convenience foods."
In 2014, Haldiram's was named one of India's most trusted brands. It was ranked 55th in a special report. The company has grown a lot over the years. By 2017, it became India's biggest snack company! It even beat other big companies from India and other countries.
In early 2024, Haldiram's discussed buying a big part of another company. This was Prataap Snacks, which makes potato chips. This move would help Haldiram's become even stronger in the potato chip market.
