About Ham and Eggs
Ham and eggs is a very common meal, especially for breakfast in the United States. People also eat it for dinner or supper, especially in the Southern United States. Sometimes, it's even served for lunch.
The eggs in this dish can be prepared in many ways. They can be fried, scrambled, or poached. Sometimes, extra ingredients like tomatoes are added. You might also find seasonings like herbes de Provence to give it more flavor. You can cook ham and eggs on a stovetop in a skillet or frying pan. It can also be baked or broiled in an oven.
To make the dish even tastier, sometimes the juices from the ham are drizzled over the eggs. Using good quality ham and cooking the ingredients slowly helps prevent them from getting overcooked. This makes the dish taste much better. Some recipes even suggest adding cream to the pan after cooking. This cream is then put on top of the ham and eggs. You can serve ham and eggs with side dishes like toast or hash browns.

Once in 1899, Duncan Hines ordered a huge amount of ham and eggs. He was at Harry Hynd's Restaurant in Cheyenne, Wyoming. He had walked about 16 miles (26 km) to Cheyenne after his horse got tired. He hadn't eaten much for four days. The person serving him thought he couldn't finish it all. But Hines was given a large plate of ham and eggs and ate every bit! Years later, he wrote that nothing had ever tasted as good as that meal.
