Harald Cerny is a former professional football player from Austria. He was born on September 13, 1973. Harald played as a right midfielder during his career. He is best known for playing many years with the German club TSV 1860 Munich.

Harald Cerny's Club Career
Harald Cerny started playing football in the youth teams of Admira Wacker. He then began his professional career in Germany.
Starting at Bayern Munich
In the 1992–93 season, Cerny joined FC Bayern Munich. He made his first appearance in Germany's top football league, the Bundesliga, on October 27, 1992. That game was a 1–1 draw against Eintracht Frankfurt.
Moving to Other Clubs
After playing three matches for Bayern Munich in the 1993–94 season, Cerny went back to Admira Wacker. He had a good season there, which led him to move to FC Tirol.
Time at 1860 Munich
In the 1995–96 season, Harald Cerny returned to Munich. This time, he joined TSV 1860 Munich, a rival club to Bayern. He stayed with 1860 Munich for eleven years. During this time, he played in 213 top-division games, which was a club record. He scored 15 goals for the team. Cerny helped 1860 Munich stay in the top league and even play in the UEFA Cup.
He stopped playing professional football after the 2006–07 season. His last three seasons were spent playing for 1860 Munich in the second division of German football.
Playing for Austria
Harald Cerny also played for his home country, Austria. He made his first international appearance in March 1993. This was a friendly match against Greece.
He played a total of 47 games for Austria and scored four goals. His last game for the national team was a friendly match against Luxembourg in April 2004. Cerny also played in two matches at the 1998 FIFA World Cup in France. He also played in nine World Cup qualifying games.
Harald Cerny's Coaching Career
After he retired from playing, Harald Cerny became a football coach. He first worked as the head coach for the U-15 team at TSV 1860 Munich.
Later, he became the head coach for the U-14 team at FC Bayern Munich. He took over this role from Mehmet Scholl. Cerny also had a short time as the U-17 coach for Hannover 96. As of 2022, he was working as a scout for 1. FC Köln.
