Harald Cerny's Football Journey
Playing for Clubs
Harald Cerny started playing football in the youth teams at Admira Wacker in Austria. He then began his professional career in Germany. He joined FC Bayern Munich in 1992. His first game in the top German league, called the Bundesliga, was on October 27, 1992.
After playing a few games for Bayern Munich, Cerny went back to Admira Wacker for a season. He played well there. This led him to move to another Austrian club, FC Tirol.
In 1996, Cerny returned to Munich. This time, he joined TSV 1860 Munich, who were rivals of Bayern Munich. He stayed with 1860 Munich for eleven years. During this time, he played in 213 top-division games. This was a club record for appearances. He scored 15 goals for the team. He helped his team stay in the top league. They also played in the UEFA Cup, which is a big European competition.
Cerny stopped playing professional football after the 2006–07 season. His last three seasons were played in the second division of German football.
Playing for Austria
Harald Cerny also played for his home country, Austria. He made his first appearance for the national team in March 1993. This was in a friendly game against Greece.
