Harrisdale is a suburb located in the southeastern part of Perth, Western Australia. It's a growing community within the City of Armadale. Harrisdale was officially recognized as a suburb in 2007. Thousands of people now call Harrisdale home.

Harrisdale is a modern and expanding area. It is situated about 20 kilometers southeast of Perth's city center. The suburb was officially created in 2007. Since then, its population has grown quite a lot.

New Homes and Developments

In 2008, a special project began in Harrisdale. The Government of Western Australia teamed up with a company called Cedar Woods Properties. They started developing a large area of land, about 30-hectare (74-acre) in size. This project, called Harrisdale Green, aims to build many new homes. It focuses on making homes affordable for families. Construction began in 2010. This development will create up to 500 new houses for people to live in.

  • Carey Baptist College is a school that teaches both boys and girls. It covers a large area of 12-hectare (30-acre). The school was started in 1998 by the Carey Community Baptist Church. It offers education from kindergarten all the way up to Year 12.
  • Harrisdale Senior High School is a public high school. It opened its doors in 2017.

Nature in Harrisdale

A significant part of western Harrisdale is home to the Harrisdale Swamp Bushland. This area is a special type of forest called a banksia woodland. It is filled with two main kinds of banksia trees: Banksia attenuata and Banksia menziesii. A small mammal called the Quenda also lives in this natural area.
