How Hasty Got Started
Hasty was officially mapped out, or platted, around the year 1895. This means someone created a plan for how the town's streets and lots would be laid out. The community was named after a person named Warren Hasty, who was the original owner of the land where the town was built.
The Hasty Post Office
Before it was platted, a post office was opened in Hasty in 1888. This post office helped people send and receive mail for many years. It served the community until it finally closed its doors in 1954.
