You can find Hasty Bank along with other hills like Carlton Bank, Cringle Moor, Cold Moor, and Urra Moor. These hills form the northern part of the Cleveland Hills. From Hasty Bank, you can see amazing views of the Tees Valley. You can even clearly spot Roseberry Topping from the top!
What is Hasty Bank?
Hasty Bank is a well-known hill that's part of the famous Cleveland Way National Trail. This trail is also a section of Wainwright's longer Coast to Coast Walk. The northern side of Hasty Bank has been worn away over time. This has created a steep, rocky face that slopes down towards Broughton Bank.
Exploring the Wainstones
At the western end of Hasty Bank, just below the very top, you'll find a large group of rocks called the Wainstones. These rocks are super old and have special carvings on them. Some of these carvings are called cup and ring markings.
These markings date all the way back to the Bronze Age. That was a time thousands of years ago when people used bronze tools! The Wainstones might have been very important to the people who lived in this area a long, long time ago.
