Hatchville is a small neighborhood located within the town of Falmouth, Massachusetts. It's part of the famous hook-shaped land area known as Cape Cod in the United States. Even though it's called Hatchville, mail for the area often goes through East Falmouth, which is a town located just to the south.
Exploring Hatchville's Location
Hatchville is found in the northern part of the town of Falmouth. It's built around a pretty body of water called Coonamessett Pond. A major road, Massachusetts Route 151 (also known as Nathan Ellis Highway), runs along the northern edge of this community. This road can take you east towards Mashpee or west to North Falmouth. Hatchville sits about 92 feet (28 meters) above sea level. It's a quiet, mostly rural area with lots of open land. You'll find the Coonamessett Farm here, which is a local farm.
The Coonamessett River also flows through Hatchville. This river helps to water the local cranberry bogs. These are special farms where cranberries are grown.
One of the largest nature areas on Cape Cod is located right in Hatchville. It's called the Frances A. Crane Wildlife Management Area. This important wildlife preserve is found on the south side of Route 151, in the eastern part of Hatchville. It's a great place to explore nature and see local wildlife.
