The Hawkeye wind farm has 15 large wind turbines. Each turbine is 100 meters (about 328 feet) tall. These turbines help create clean energy from the wind.
The power from this wind farm is bought by Central Iowa Power Cooperative. They then share this power with their member cooperatives. This helps provide electricity to communities in the area.
A special event was held on October 8, 2012, to celebrate the wind farm. Senator Chuck Grassley was the main speaker at this event. You can watch a video of his speech online.
