Hayley Jane Lewis (born March 2, 1974) is a famous Australian swimmer. She is known for winning many medals. At just 15 years old, she won five gold medals and one bronze medal at the 1990 Commonwealth Games.
Hayley Lewis also hosted the TV show The Biggest Loser in Australia.

Hayley's Early Life
Hayley Lewis was born in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. She went to Brisbane State High School. She finished school in 1991. In her last year, she was the captain of the Girls Swimming Team.
Hayley's Swimming Career
Commonwealth Games Success
In 1990, Hayley Lewis became very well-known. She was only 15 years old. She won five gold medals at the Commonwealth Games. These wins were in the 200-metre freestyle, 400-metre freestyle, 200-metre butterfly, 400-metre individual medley, and the 4×200-metre freestyle relay. She also earned a bronze medal in the 200-metre individual medley.
World Championships and Olympics
At the 1991 World Aquatics Championships in Perth, she won more medals. She took home a gold in the 200-metre freestyle. She also won two silver medals in the 400-metre freestyle and 400-metre individual medley. She added a bronze medal in the 200-metre butterfly.
Later in her career, Hayley focused on the 800-metre freestyle race. She won a silver medal in this event at the 1992 Summer Olympics. She also earned a silver medal at the 1994 Rome World Championships. At the Barcelona Olympics, she won a bronze medal in the 400-metre freestyle.
Hayley competed in three Olympic Games. At the 2001 World Aquatics Championships, she won a bronze medal. This was for the 5-kilometre open water swimming event.
Life After Swimming
Hayley Lewis hosted the Australian TV show The Biggest Loser from 2010 to 2014. In 2002, she opened a swimming center. It was the first one inside a big shopping center in Australia. This was at Westfield Carindale in Brisbane.
In 2010, the shopping center was redeveloped. Hayley's pool was taken down. She now owns a gift and home goods store in Brisbane called Coming Up Roses.
In April 2011, Hayley wrote her first business book. It is called Dream Believe Create.
Hayley married her childhood sweetheart, Greg Taylor, in 1997. They have two sons, Jacob and Kai. Their younger son, Kai Taylor, is also a swimmer. He won a silver medal in the 4x100 metre freestyle relay at the 2024 Summer Olympics.

Awards and Recognition
Hayley Lewis has received many honors for her achievements.
- In 1997, she was added to the Sport Australia Hall of Fame.
- She received an Australian Sports Medal in 2000.
