Heinz "Flocke" Flohe (born 28 January 1948 – died 15 June 2013) was a famous German football player and manager. He was known for his amazing skills as a midfielder. A midfielder is a player who helps both attack and defend on the football field.

Playing Football: Heinz Flohe's Amazing Career
Heinz Flohe spent most of his playing career with 1. FC Köln. He played for them from 1966 to 1979. During his time there, he helped the team win many important titles.
Club Success with 1. FC Köln
Flohe was a key player when 1. FC Köln won the Bundesliga title in the 1977–78 season. The Bundesliga is Germany's top football league. He also helped his team win the DFB-Pokal (German Cup) three times. These wins were in 1968, 1977, and 1978.
After leaving 1. FC Köln, he played for TSV 1860 Munich from 1979 to 1980. Sadly, his football career ended after he got a serious injury during his last match.
Playing for West Germany
Heinz Flohe also played for the West Germany national team. He played in 39 matches and scored 8 goals for his country. He was part of the team that won the 1974 FIFA World Cup. This was a huge achievement for him and his country.
He also played in other big international tournaments. These included the UEFA Euro 1976 and the 1978 FIFA World Cup.
Later Life and Achievements
On 11 May 2010, Heinz Flohe became very ill. He sadly passed away on 15 June 2013, when he was 65 years old.
