About the Mount Diablo Sunflower
The Mount Diablo sunflower is a type of herbaceous plant. This means it has soft stems, not woody ones like a tree. It can grow up to 45 centimeters (about 18 inches) tall. Its leaves can be as long as 15 centimeters (about 6 inches).
What Does It Look Like?
This plant usually has one bright yellow flower head on each stem. Each flower head is made of two kinds of flowers. It has ray flowers, which look like petals. It also has disc flowers in the center. Together, they form a beautiful sunflower-like bloom.
