The Helm of Darkness or Cap of Invisibility is a special helmet from Greek mythology. When someone wears it, they become completely invisible. It's also known as the Cap of Hades or Helm of Hades.

This magical helmet was used by several important figures in myths. The wise goddess Athena wore it, as did Hermes, the messenger god. Even the hero Perseus used the Helm of Darkness on his adventures.

How the Helm was Made

According to ancient myths, the Helm of Darkness was crafted by the powerful one-eyed giants called the Cyclops. These skilled smiths also made other famous items for the gods. They created a mighty lightning bolt for Zeus, the king of the gods. They also forged a powerful trident for Poseidon, the god of the sea. The Helm of Darkness was their special gift to Hades, the god of the underworld.
