Hendricks is a small town in Tucker County, West Virginia, United States. In 2020, about 226 people lived there. It's a special place where two rivers, the Blackwater River and the Dry Fork, meet. When they join, they form the Black Fork, which is a main part of the Cheat River.

History of Hendricks

In 1803, a German settler named Henry Fansler moved to the area where the Blackwater River meets. He had tried living in nearby Canaan Valley for three years, but it didn't work out. He decided to settle at the spot where Hendricks is today and called his new home "Eden."

Much later, in 1894, Hendricks officially became a town. It was named by a very important person in the area, Henry Gassaway Davis. He named the town after Thomas A. Hendricks, who was a Vice President of the United States.
