Story of the Munsters' Move
The Munster family was tired of being treated badly in Transylvania. People there didn't understand them because they looked different. One day, they found part of a letter from their cousin Marilyn. She lived in California, in the United States. So, the family decided it was time for a big move!
When they arrived in America, they got a big surprise. The rest of Marilyn's letter had been burned by Spot, their pet dragon! This meant they didn't know everything. They soon found out that Marilyn's dad, Norman Hyde, was missing. Also, her mom, Elsa Hyde (who is Herman's sister), was in a deep sleep, called a coma. The Munsters now had two big mysteries to solve.
The family had to find out what happened to Norman. They also needed to figure out how to wake up Elsa. On top of that, they had to learn how to live in a new country. They tried their best to "fit in" with everyone else in America.
It turned out that Norman Hyde was trying to make his daughter, Marilyn, look more like the rest of the Munster family. Marilyn looks like a normal human, unlike her spooky relatives. But his experiment went wrong! Instead of changing Marilyn, Norman Hyde accidentally changed himself. He turned into a completely different person named Brent Jekyll. This part of the story is a fun twist on the famous book The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde by Robert Louis Stevenson.
Brent Jekyll was running for a political job in Congress. As part of his campaign, he was trying to get people who were "foreigners" out of America. This included the Munster family! But there was a bigger secret behind this. It seemed that Norman Hyde was changed into Brent Jekyll on purpose. Someone wanted a new politician who had no past. This way, people would listen to him more easily.
As the story continues, the Munster family works together to save the day. Herman gets arrested and put in jail. But Grandpa, being very clever, creates a copy of Herman using spare parts! He uses this copy to help the real Herman escape from jail. They then quickly drive away in their cool car, the Munster Koach.
