Hermie and Friends facts for kids

Hermie and Friends is a Christian video series made for young children. It was released from 2003 to 2010. The show uses 3D animation to bring its characters to life. It stars two friendly caterpillars named Hermie and Wormie.
The series began with a special 40-minute video called Hermie: A Common Caterpillar. This video was based on a book by Max Lucado with the same name. The show then became a video series. These stories happen before Hermie turns into a butterfly. You could also find products like Christian video games that were based on the videos. The show was also shown in Australia on the Australian Christian Channel.
Meet the Characters
Main Bug Friends
- Tim Conway as Hermie: Hermie is a green caterpillar who later becomes a butterfly. He goes on many adventures in Max Lucado's garden. Hermie often talks to Max Lucado at the start of videos. He usually brings the funny parts to the show. Sometimes he makes mistakes, but Wormie helps him get back on track.
- Don Knotts (2003–2006) and John Causby (2007–2010) as Wormie: Wormie is a cream white caterpillar. He also becomes a butterfly later on. Wormie is Hermie's very best friend. He is often kinder and more friendly than Hermie. But he can get upset if others do not do the right thing. Wormie often shares Bible verses and explains them to Hermie. He really loves fruitcake and often repeats the word. His famous saying is "Oh boy, here we go again." Don Knotts, who first voiced Wormie, passed away in 2006. John Causby then took over the role for the rest of the series.
- Vicki Lawrence as Flo: Flo is a talkative pink fly. At first, she was known for telling lies. But now she mostly tells the truth, though sometimes she takes it too far. Flo is a big fan of The Waterbeetles band.
- Melissa Disney as Lucy: Lucy is the kind mother of twin ladybugs, Hailey and Bailey. She tries her best to teach her children good behavior. She sometimes scolds them when they do not listen. Her husband is not often seen in the show.
- Hailey and Bailey: These are the red and black ladybug twins of Lucy. They often get into trouble and do not always obey their mother. Hailey loves tomatoes, and Bailey loves blueberries. This difference caused a big fight in one episode called "Hailey and Bailey's Silly Fight."
- Sam Mercurio as Buzby: Buzby is a yellow and black bee. At first, he did not behave well, but he later learned to follow rules. Buzby is also an amazing speller. He loves singing and playing the guitar. He has a niece named Beebee and a nephew named Buddy.
- Sam Mercurio also voices Antonio: Antonio is the leader of the brown ant army in the garden. He is a brave ant who helps protect the garden from danger. He sometimes wears a soldier's hat.
- Frank Peretti as Puffy: Puffy is an orange dragonfly. He appears briefly in most episodes.
- Tahj Mowry as Webster: Webster is a blue and purple spider with yellow spots. At first, he was afraid of many things. But later, he becomes much braver by saying, "God is with me." Webster is a smart young spider who wears glasses. He sometimes scares others without meaning to, because he is scared himself. He is named after the famous Webster Dictionary.
- Third Day as The Waterbeetles: This is a famous band in the garden. The band members are Ringo, Lingo, Zingo, and Stringo.
- Rick and Bubba as Iggy and Ziggy: These are two brown cockroaches. They are sometimes mischievous. They often host games or other events in the series.
- Judge Reinhold as Stanley: Stanley is a stinkbug. At first, other bugs did not like him because he would stink when he was scared. Stanley is good at sports. Like Webster, he was not liked at first and was afraid of many things.
- Richard Kind as Milo: Milo is a green praying mantis. It is funny because at first, he did not know how to pray to God. He owns a snack shack in the garden that has been there for many years. Hermie and Wormie help him learn how to pray.
- Dan Lynch as Big Bully Croaker: This is a giant green bullfrog. He has a mouth without teeth and a long purple tongue. He is the only bad guy who appears in many episodes. He causes trouble in the garden and tries to eat the bugs.
