Edward Ernest "Judge" Reinhold Jr. (born May 21, 1957) is an American actor. He is well-known for his roles in many popular Hollywood movies from the 1980s. Some of his famous films include Stripes (1981) and Fast Times at Ridgemont High (1982). He also starred in the Beverly Hills Cop and The Santa Clause movie series.

Early Life of Judge Reinhold
Judge Reinhold was born in Wilmington, Delaware. His father, Edward Ernest Reinhold, was a lawyer. Judge grew up in Fredericksburg, Virginia. Later, his family moved to Martin County, Florida. He went to college at Mary Washington College and Palm Beach State College.
Judge Reinhold's Acting Career
Starting Out in Movies
Reinhold began his acting career in the early 1980s. He had a main role in the movie Running Scared (1980). He also played a supporting part in the hit comedy Stripes (1981).
His first big movie role was as Brad Hamilton in Fast Times at Ridgemont High (1982). In this film, he acted alongside many future stars. These included Sean Penn, Phoebe Cates, and Nicolas Cage.
Becoming a Star with Beverly Hills Cop
Reinhold's career really took off with Beverly Hills Cop (1984). He played Detective Billy Rosewood, a police detective. He was sent to follow the main character, played by Eddie Murphy. This movie was a huge success.
After Beverly Hills Cop, Reinhold got more leading roles. He starred in movies like Roadhouse 66 (1985) and Head Office (1985). He also had a supporting role in the very successful movie Ruthless People (1986). He later returned for Beverly Hills Cop II (1987), which was another big hit.
Moving to Supporting Roles
After some movies that were not as successful, Reinhold began taking more supporting roles. He appeared in Rosalie Goes Shopping (1989). In 1994, he was in Beverly Hills Cop III. That same year, he joined The Santa Clause movie series.
He played Dr. Neal Miller in The Santa Clause. He returned for this role in The Santa Clause 2 (2002) and The Santa Clause 3: The Escape Clause (2006).
Later Acting Work
Reinhold was nominated for an Emmy Award for his role on the TV show Seinfeld. He played a character known as the "close talker". He also appeared in the miniseries Into the West. He took over a role in two movies from the Beethoven film series.
In 2008, Reinhold was in the movie Swing Vote. More recently, in 2022, it was confirmed that he would play Detective Billy Rosewood again. This was for the new movie Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F.
Judge Reinhold's Personal Life
Reinhold got his nickname "Judge" when he was a baby. People said he looked very serious, like a judge.
He is married to his second wife, Amy Reinhold. They have a daughter named Haley Rose, who was born in 2013. The family lives in Little Rock, Arkansas.
