Herscher's Location and Size
Herscher is found in the southwestern part of Kankakee County. A main road, Illinois Route 115, runs along the northern edge of the village. This highway can take you about 16 miles (26 km) east to Kankakee, which is the main city of the county. If you go southwest on the highway, you'll reach Piper City about 26 miles (42 km) away.
