Hillview is a city in Bullitt County, Kentucky, in the United States. It is a "home rule-class city," which means it has the power to manage many of its own local affairs.
In 2020, about 8,622 people lived in Hillview. This was a bit more than the 8,172 people who lived there in 2010. A main road through the area is Kentucky Route 61. It is also known as Preston Highway.
Hillview used to be a rural farming community. It started to grow in the 1950s and 1960s. This happened after it connected to Interstate 65 in 1954. Hillview became a suburb of Louisville. Some of its larger neighborhoods were Maryville, Overdale, and Lone Acres. These areas joined together in 1974 to form the city we know today.
Where is Hillview Located?
Hillview is in the northern part of Bullitt County. It is about 15 miles south of downtown Louisville. The northern edge of Hillview is also the southern edge of Louisville-Jefferson County.
Other cities are close by. Pioneer Village is to the east. Hunters Hollow is to the west. Hebron Estates is to the southeast. Fox Chase is to the south. The area of Brooks is to the west, across Interstate 65.
The city covers a total area of about 6.6 square miles (17.1 square kilometers). A small part of this area, about 0.1 square miles (0.25 square kilometers), is water.
