Hoeksche Waard is a special area in the Netherlands. It's a municipality, which is like a local government area, located in the province of South Holland. In 2019, about 86,732 people called this place home.

This municipality was created quite recently, on 1 January 2019. It was formed by joining five smaller municipalities: Binnenmaas, Cromstrijen, Korendijk, Oud-Beijerland, and Strijen. This merger helped bring these areas together under one local government.
