Hohenrain is a town, also called a municipality, in Switzerland. It's located in the Lucerne area, in the Hochdorf district. Since January 1, 2007, the nearby town of Lieli has also been part of Hohenrain.

Hohenrain is a very old place. It was first written about way back in 1182 or 1183. Back then, its name was spelled Hohenrein.

Hohenrain is found in the Seetal valley. It sits on the western side of the Lindenberg mountain. The town is located above Lake Baldegg.

The municipality includes the main village of Hohenrain. It also has the area that used to be the municipality of Lieli. Plus, there are smaller areas called hamlets, like Kleinwangen, and other small settlements.

Hohenrain covers an area of about 23.4 square kilometers (9 square miles). A large part of this land, about 75.5%, is used for farming. Forests cover another 19% of the area. The remaining 5.6% of the land is where buildings and roads are.
