History of Holcomb
The community of Holcomb got its name from Lewis Holcomb, who was a sheriff in the county. A post office was opened in Holcomb way back in 1882. This means people have been sending and receiving mail in Holcomb for a very long time!
Geography of Holcomb
Holcomb is located in the western part of the area known as the Bootheel in Missouri. You can find the city where two main roads, Missouri Route 25 and Missouri Route 53, meet. The St. Francis River and the border between Missouri and Arkansas are just to the west of the city.
The United States Census Bureau says that Holcomb covers a total area of about 0.58 square miles (1.51 square kilometers). All of this area is land, with no water.
