History of Hollenberg

Hollenberg was first planned out in 1872. It was named after its founder, G. H. Hollenberg. He owned a store in the area where the city was started.

The first post office in Hollenberg opened in April 1872. This helped people send and receive mail in the new community.

Geography and Location

Hollenberg covers a total area of about 0.08 square miles (0.19 square kilometers). All of this area is land, meaning there are no lakes or rivers within the city limits.

As mentioned, the city is located about 1.5 miles (2.4 km) south of the Kansas-Nebraska state line. This puts it in the northern part of Washington County.
