Holstein is a small village located in Adams County, Nebraska, in the United States. According to the 2020 census, about 188 people lived there. Holstein is part of the larger Hastings area.

History of Holstein
Holstein was officially planned and mapped out in 1887. This happened when the Kansas City and Omaha Railroad line was extended to reach this spot. Many of the first people who settled here came from Germany and Denmark. Because of this, they chose the name Holstein, which comes from a region called Schleswig-Holstein in northern Germany.
Geography of the Village
Holstein is a small village. The United States Census Bureau says that the village covers about 0.23 square miles (0.60 square kilometers) of land. There is no water area within the village limits.
