What is House of Anubis About?
Season 1: The Secret of the Cup
The story begins at Anubis House, an old English boarding school from the 1890s. Nine students live there, watched by the strict caretaker, Victor Rodenmaar Jr. When American student Nina Martin (Nathalia Ramos) arrives, another student, Joy Mercer (Klariza Clayton), suddenly disappears. The school staff tries to hide that Joy ever existed.
Joy's best friend, Patricia Williamson (Jade Ramsey), is upset. She thinks Nina is involved in Joy's disappearance. Nina is forced to spend a night in the attic. There, she finds old recordings from a girl named Sarah Frobisher-Smythe (Rita Davies). Sarah used to live in the house and reveals its secret history.
Sarah gives Nina a special Eye of Horus necklace. This necklace has mysterious powers. Nina decides to investigate the house's secrets. She teams up with her new friends, Fabian Rutter (Brad Kavanagh) and Amber Millington (Ana Mulvoy Ten). They form a secret group called "Sibuna," which is "Anubis" spelled backward.
Patricia later joins Sibuna after learning Joy's disappearance is linked to the house. Alfie Lewis (Alex Sawyer), a prankster, also joins the group. Even Jerome Clarke (Eugene Simon) gets involved in the mystery. Other students like Mara Jaffray (Tasie Lawrence) and Mick Campbell (Bobby Lockwood) don't know about the secrets. The house mother, Trudy Rehmann (Mina Anwar), is also unaware.
Sibuna finds seven puzzle pieces hidden in the house. These pieces form the Cup of Ankh. Only a "chosen one" can put the cup together. Everyone believes Joy is the chosen one because she was born on July 7th at 7 o'clock. But they discover the chosen one was born at 7 AM, which is when Nina was born. So, Nina is the true chosen one. Nina must assemble the cup before Victor, the teachers, or Rufus Zeno can get it.
Season 2: The Mask of Anubis
In the second season, an ancient Egyptian spirit named Senkhara curses Nina. Nina must find the Mask of Anubis or she will die. The Sibuna group discovers secret tunnels under the house. These tunnels have puzzles and dangers leading to the mask.
Senkhara gets impatient and curses Alfie, Amber, Fabian, and Patricia too. Victor is also looking for the mask. He believes it holds a missing ingredient for the elixir of life: "tears of gold." Victor gets the school principal, Mr. Sweet, to arrange an Egyptian exhibition. This helps him find the Book of Isis, which has the elixir recipe.
Jerome finds his father in prison. His father tells him to find the Frobisher Gem. Jerome needs to put it into the Frobisher shield to reverse his bad luck. A new American student, Eddie (Burkely Duffield), arrives. He and Patricia become rivals, but they secretly like each other.
Victor teams up with Vera, the new house mother. Vera pretends to help Victor find the mask. But she is secretly working with Rufus Zeno. It's a race between Sibuna and Victor to find the Mask of Anubis. The mask is believed to grant eternal life. In the end, Nina leaves to live with her grandmother.
Season 3: The Evil Reawakening
A new teacher, Miss Denby (Susy Kane), arrives in the third season. She often meets with Victor and Mr. Sweet. A new American student, K.T. Rush (Alexandra Shipp), also comes to the school. Eddie has a vision of K.T.'s dying grandfather. He gives her a key and tells her to go to Anubis House.
Eddie and K.T. start looking around the house. Fabian tries to understand some codes that Amber accidentally found. Eddie, K.T., and Willow become new Sibuna members. When Amber leaves for fashion school, Eddie becomes the new leader. Fabian, K.T., Patricia, Alfie, and Willow are also members.
They learn that the adults are trying to reawaken Robert Frobisher-Smythe. Miss Denby is the "Keeper," keeping Frobisher in a tank. Victor is the "Enabler," and Mr. Sweet is the "Seeker." The Sibunas discover that Miss Denby's real name is Caroline. Her sister, Harriet, is the true Keeper. Harriet is locked in a mental hospital because of Caroline.
K.T. is Frobisher's great-granddaughter. Jerome, Joy, Alfie, and Patricia are descendants of Frobisher's friends. They are needed for a ceremony. But Caroline Denby lies about her identity. This makes Frobisher reawaken as an evil being.
Everyone thinks Sibuna stopped the ceremony. But Caroline finds Frobisher awake and evil. She doesn't tell Victor or Mr. Sweet. Robert explains he needs to capture five "sinning" people for Ammut. Ammut is an evil creature. The captured sinners are Victor, Patricia, Mr. Sweet, Fabian, and Alfie.
Ammut rises but needs more souls. Frobisher gets a book to capture souls easily. A fake assembly is planned to get more souls. Willow (Louisa Connolly-Burnham) is the only one who doesn't become a sinner. Willow, Eddie, and K.T. are chased by Frobisher and the soulless students. Harriet rescues them in an ambulance.
Harriet explains Willow didn't become a sinner because she had K.T.'s moon key. Ammut can be sent back using Caroline's sun key and K.T.'s moon key. Willow becomes a sinner when she and K.T. try to steal the sun key. Harriet had slipped the moon key into K.T.'s pocket.
In the end, Ammut is sent back and eats Caroline. Frobisher becomes good and old again. All the sinners return to normal and don't remember what happened. Willow forgets the whole mystery. Eddie and K.T. tell the Sibunas what happened. Frobisher and Harriet go to Egypt. Jerome and Joy finally become a couple. The group enjoys fireworks.
The Final Adventure: Touchstone of Ra
In the special episode Touchstone of Ra, the Anubis House students prepare for graduation. But four new students arrive early: Cassie, Erin, Dexter, and Sophia. Patricia immediately dislikes Sophia because she flirts with Eddie.
On a trip to an Egyptian museum, Eddie, Dexter, and Sophia find the Touchstone of Ra. Back at the house, Victor announces an artifact was stolen. The Touchstone appears in Eddie's possession. Victor takes it but doesn't plan to return it.
The Sibunas, Sophia, and Mara overhear Victor talking about building the Pyramid of Ra. They plan to stop him and get the Touchstone. Eddie discovers Sophia has betrayed them. She plans to build the Pyramid of Ra herself.
At graduation, Mara is controlled by a strange force. She wears the valedictorian medal, which is actually an artifact. At the house, Sibuna teams up with Victor. They search for the remaining pillars of the Pyramid to stop Sophia. In the final fight, the Pyramid is not completed, and the students are saved.
Sophia fails and is turned to stone by Ra as punishment. Eddie loses his special Osirian powers. Victor's "destiny" was to stop the pyramid from being built. He decides to leave the house for good that evening. The students celebrate their graduation party.
