Hoyt Lakes is a city located in Saint Louis County, Minnesota. In 2020, about 2,020 people lived there.
The city of Hoyt Lakes was started in 1955. It was built to support a large mine that dug up a special kind of iron ore called taconite. This mine operated from 1956 to 2008. The taconite ore was moved from the mine to Taconite Harbor using the Cliffs Erie Railroad.
A main road in Hoyt Lakes is Saint Louis County Highway 110 (CR 110).
