Hrysopiyi "Piyi" Devetzi (born January 2, 1976) is a retired Greek athlete. She was known for competing in the triple jump and long jump events. Piyi was born in Alexandroupoli, Greece.

She won a silver medal in the triple jump at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens. Her jump was 15.25 meters. At the same Olympics, she set a Greek record of 15.32 meters during the semifinal round. This amazing jump placed her among the top triple jumpers of all time. She was ranked fourth globally at that point.

Piyi also earned a silver medal at the 2006 European Athletics Championships in Gothenburg. She narrowly missed the gold medal in the final jump. She was a leading female triple jumper for many years. She was also named the Greek Female Athlete of the Year four times. This was for the years 2005, 2006, 2007, and 2008.

Changes to Results

In 2009, Piyi Devetzi faced a situation where she did not provide a sample for a required test. This action is treated the same as a positive test result. Because of this, she received a two-year suspension from competing.

Later, in 2016, samples from August 2007 were retested. These retests showed a substance that was not allowed. As a result, many of her achievements from 2007 onwards were officially changed. This included her bronze medal from the 2008 Olympic Games. Her bronze medal from the 2007 World Championships was also removed.

On November 17, 2016, the IOC (International Olympic Committee) officially changed her results from the 2008 Olympic Games. Her Olympic bronze medal was removed. Her long jump and triple jump results from that event were also taken off the official records.
