Hyalinobatrachium cappellei is a type of frog that belongs to the Centrolenidae family. Frogs in this family are often called glass frogs because their skin is so clear you can sometimes see their insides!
You can find this special frog in a region called the Guianas. This includes countries like Venezuela, Guyana, French Guiana, and Suriname. It also lives in parts of the huge Amazon Basin in Brazil. For a long time, until 2011, scientists thought this frog was the same as another species, Hyalinobatrachium fleischmanni. But now we know it is its own unique species.
Reproduction and Parental Care
Hyalinobatrachium cappellei frogs are known for how they raise their young. They spend a lot of time breeding and taking care of their eggs.
Usually, when parents spend a lot of effort on their babies, it can be hard on the parents. But for these glass frogs, it's different! Male frogs that help look after more groups of eggs actually have a better chance of finding another mate. This means helping out is good for them!
