Hythe is a small community called a "hamlet" in northwest Alberta, Canada. It is located on Highway 43. You can find it about 58 kilometers (36 miles) northwest of the City of Grande Prairie. It is also 73 kilometers (45 miles) southeast of the City of Dawson Creek, British Columbia. Hythe used to be a village until July 2021.

Hythe's Story: From Village to Hamlet
Hythe's post office opened in 1914. It was named after a town called Hythe in England. On August 31, 1929, Hythe officially became a village. Later, on July 1, 2021, the village changed its status. It became a hamlet under the County of Grande Prairie No. 1. This means it is now governed by the county.

Hythe is found in an area known as the Peace River Country. This region stretches across northwest Alberta and northeast British Columbia.
