The fifth season of iCarly aired on Nickelodeon from August 13, 2011, to January 21, 2012. This season follows Carly Shay (Miranda Cosgrove), Sam Puckett (Jennette McCurdy), Freddie Benson (Nathan Kress), and Gibby Gibson (Noah Munck). Their web show, iCarly, becomes very popular worldwide. In this season, Sam and Freddie even become a couple for a while!

Jerry Trainor also stars as Carly's older brother, Spencer. This season includes special episodes like "iLost My Mind" and "iMeet the First Lady".

Season Storyline

After the events of "iOMG", Sam goes to a mental hospital. She needs to figure out her feelings for Freddie. During a live iCarly show from the hospital, Freddie and Sam share a kiss. This marks the start of their new relationship.

In the next few episodes, Sam and Freddie try to make their relationship work. They argue a lot in "iDate Sam & Freddie". Carly tries to help them solve their fights. Eventually, Carly tells them to break up if they can't stop arguing. In "iCan't Take It", Sam and Freddie stop fighting. But their relationship causes problems for their friends. Gibby and Freddie's mom, Mrs. Benson, even try to break them up! Carly helps them get back together. In "iLove You", Sam and Freddie decide to end their relationship. They realize they are very different. But they still say they love each other. They hint that they might get back together someday.

Later in the season, T-Bo moves into Freddie and Mrs. Benson's apartment. He was kicked out of The Groovy Smoothie. Sam and Freddie help him pretend to be a polite gentleman. Mrs. Benson lets him stay at first. But she later finds out the real T-Bo. She tries to kick him out. However, T-Bo saves the gang from an obsessed fan. So, Mrs. Benson changes her mind and lets him stay.
