Story of iGo to Japan
The iCarly friends get a special invitation to Tokyo, Japan. They have been nominated for the annual iWeb Awards! To win, they need to perform a funny skit live on stage. Before their trip, they create a sketch called Melanie Higgles: Space Cheerleader.
Getting to Japan
Carly, Sam, and Freddie receive three first-class plane tickets. Freddie’s mom, Marissa, does not want Freddie to go at first. She only agrees if she can come along too. Spencer, Carly's older brother, also volunteers to be their chaperone.
Since there are five people but only three tickets, Spencer trades the first-class tickets. He gets five regular tickets instead. But then, Spencer calls a friend named Socko for a favor. This leads to the group flying to Japan on a very messy cargo plane. It is full of possums and is actually going to Korea! They end up having to skydive into Tokyo.
Adventures in Tokyo
The group lands in a deserted area. Luckily, a Japanese policeman finds them. He takes them safely to Hotel Nakamura, where they will be staying. After checking in and resting from their long flight, they get visitors. Kyoko and Yûki, stars of a competing web show, come to see them.
Kyoko and Yûki offer Spencer and Marissa free passes to a spa. They take Carly, Sam, and Freddie shopping. But their kind actions are a trick! Kyoko and Yûki want to stop iCarly from winning the iWeb Awards.
The Sabotage and Rescue
Kyoko and Yûki pretend to get lost on purpose. They take Carly, Sam, and Freddie to the middle of nowhere. Then, they fake a kung-fu fight and drive away, leaving the iCarly gang stranded.
Meanwhile, Spencer and Marissa are at the spa. They get trapped by seaweed during their massage! Spencer uses his appetite to get free. Marissa then finds the lost iCarly gang. She uses a special locator chip she put in Freddie's head.
The Awards Show
The group finally reunites and makes it to the iWeb Awards show. But security guards stop them from entering because they do not speak English. Marissa distracts the guards, and they sneak in. However, they are quickly caught again.
The guards keep them in a utility room. Carly and Sam try to explain what happened by acting it out. Freddie cleverly records them with his camcorder. He plugs his camera into the stage's giant screen. Without the girls knowing, their wild performance is shown to everyone! This makes Kyoko and Yûki's performance look bad. It also shows everyone their mean tricks.
The man who invited them saves them. He speaks fluent Japanese and tells the guards that iCarly is supposed to be on the show.
Winning the Award
iCarly wins the award for best comedy! Carly and Sam are surprised because they do not know how they won. Freddie explains that their wild performance was broadcast. Kyoko and Yûki are arrested for their actions.
The iCarly gang, along with Spencer and Marissa, return to America. They travel on what looks like a fishing boat, which they are not happy about!
