"iGoodbye" is the very last episode of the popular American TV show iCarly. It was a special hour-long episode that first aired on November 23, 2012, on Nickelodeon. This episode features David Chisum as Colonel Steven Shay, who is Spencer and Carly's dad.
Plot Summary
Carly is super excited because her dad, Colonel Shay, is supposed to come to Seattle to take her to the special Father-Daughter Air Force Dance. But then, she gets a message saying he can't make it. To cheer her up, Spencer offers to take her instead, and Carly agrees.
Right after, Spencer gets sick from Lewbert, the apartment building's doorman, and can't go to the dance either. Carly is really sad because this is her last chance to go to the dance, and she hasn't been able to go with her dad for four years. Sam tries to help by convincing Freddie and Gibby to take Carly, but she says no to their offer.
Even though he said he couldn't come, Colonel Shay surprises everyone and arrives! He takes Carly to the dance, which makes her very happy. After the dance, Colonel Shay tells everyone that he has to go back to his base in Italy. Carly is disappointed because she wanted to spend more time with him.
Colonel Shay then asks Carly to come with him to Italy. At first, she's not sure, but Spencer and her friends encourage her to go. Colonel Shay even mentions there are attractive guys there, which helps Carly decide to go.
Meanwhile, Spencer starts fixing up a old 1964 Sterling motorcycle for his friend Socko. Socko wants to give it to his cousin Ryder for his birthday. Sam, who loves motorcycles, offers to help Spencer. He accepts, and they work on the bike together. Sam finds an important part, and Spencer gets over his cold.
On the night of the dance, the motorcycle is ready. But Spencer tells Sam that Socko and Ryder had a fight, so Socko won't be giving Ryder the motorcycle anymore. Sam gets upset at first because Spencer didn't tell her sooner. Spencer then explains that he wants Sam to have the motorcycle instead. Sam is touched and happily accepts the gift.
Carly, Sam, and Freddie go to the studio to film their very last iCarly webcast. Colonel Shay is a special guest on the show. At the end of the episode, Carly and Sam tell their viewers that iCarly will be taking a break while Carly is in Italy. They thank all their fans for their support over the years.
After the show, Carly packs her things in her room downstairs with Spencer. They share a tearful hug, and Carly thanks Spencer for everything. Freddie is packing his tech gear in the studio when Carly stops him. They share a final kiss before she leaves. As she walks out, Freddie raises his hands in triumph. Before heading to the airport with her dad, Carly says her goodbyes to Gibby. She saves her goodbye with Sam for last. They have an emotional moment in the elevator, and Sam gives Carly the remote from the show as a special keepsake.
On the flight to Italy, Carly watches old iCarly webcasts on her laptop, remembering fun times. Back home, Sam tries out her new motorcycle for the first time, riding happily through the South. This leads to the events of the show Sam & Cat. The episode ends with Freddie, off-screen, saying his famous closing line, "And... we're clear."
