The second generation iPad Mini (also known as iPad Mini 2) is a small, powerful tablet computer made by Apple Inc.. It's like a super-portable computer you can hold in your hands! It was first released on November 12, 2013.
Even though it looks a lot like the first iPad Mini, this version came with some cool upgrades. It has a much sharper screen called a Retina Display and a faster Apple A7 chip. The iPad Mini 2 was later replaced by the iPad Mini 3 in 2014 and was no longer sold after 2017.
History of the iPad Mini 2
The iPad Mini 2 was first shown to the public at an event on October 22, 2013. This event took place at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts. The main idea of the event was "We still have a lot to cover."
When it first came out, Apple officially called this tablet the "iPad Mini with Retina Display." However, when the next version, the iPad Mini 3, was announced on October 16, 2014, Apple changed the name of this model to simply "iPad Mini 2."
