Iain Alan Sutherland Glen (born on June 24, 1961) is a famous Scottish actor. He is well-known for playing Dr. Alexander Isaacs in the Resident Evil movies. He also played Jorah Mormont in the popular TV show Game of Thrones.
Iain Glen has been in many other movies and TV shows. These include Lara Croft: Tomb Raider and Downton Abbey. He also played Bruce Wayne in the TV series Titans. He is also a very talented stage actor. He has performed in many plays, including famous Shakespeare works like Hamlet and Macbeth.

Early life and education
Iain Glen was born in Edinburgh, Scotland, on June 24, 1961. He went to school at the Edinburgh Academy. This was a private school for boys. Later, he studied at the University of Aberdeen.
He then decided to become an actor. He trained at the RADA in London. He graduated in 1985. He even won a special award called the Bancroft Gold Medal. His older brother, Hamish Glen, is also involved in theatre. He is an artistic director.
Career highlights
Iain Glen started his film career in 1988. His first big movie was Paris by Night. That same year, he appeared in Gorillas in the Mist with Sigourney Weaver. In 1990, he won an award for Best Actor at the Berlin International Film Festival. This was for his role in the movie Silent Scream.
He also played Hamlet in a film called Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead. This movie won a top award at the Venice Film Festival. In 1998, he was nominated for a Laurence Olivier Award. This is a very important theatre award. It was for his role in the play The Blue Room, where he acted with Nicole Kidman.
In 2009, Iain Glen joined the cast of Game of Thrones. He played Ser Jorah Mormont. This character was a knight who became an advisor to Daenerys Targaryen. He was a very loyal friend to her. This role made him famous around the world.
He also appeared in Doctor Who in 2010. He played Father Octavian in two episodes. In 2011, he joined the popular show Downton Abbey. He played Sir Richard Carlisle, a newspaper publisher. From 2010 to 2016, he starred as the main character in the Irish TV crime series Jack Taylor.
More recently, in 2019, it was announced that Iain Glen would play Bruce Wayne. This was for the DC Universe TV series Titans. In 2023, he starred in the TV series The Rig. He played Magnus MacMillan, who was in charge of an oil rig. He also appeared in Silo as Dr. Pete Nichols.
Iain Glen has won many awards for his acting. He received several nominations for his work in Game of Thrones. He won the Best Actor award at the 2016 Taormina Film Fest.
Personal life
Iain Glen lives in south London with his wife and three children. He enjoys playing cricket in his free time. He has even played for a team made up of actors.
