Imani-Lara's Early Career in Sprinting

Imani-Lara Lansiquot was born in Peckham, England. She showed her speed from a young age. When she was just 15, she ran the 100 metres in under 12 seconds. This happened in June 2013 at the Surrey Schools Championships. She then won the English Schools Championships in July 2013.

Junior and Under-23 Competitions

In 2015, Imani-Lara competed at the European Junior Championships. She finished fifth in the 100 metres final. However, she won a gold medal as part of the 4 × 100 metres relay team.

The next year, at the 2016 World Under-20 Championships, she ran a very fast 11.17 seconds. This placed her second on the UK all-time list for under-20 athletes. She finished fourth in the 100 metres final at this event. In 2017, she again placed fourth in the 100 metres final at the European Under-23 Championships.

Breaking Personal Records

In 2018, Imani-Lara competed at the Anniversary Games in London. She set a new personal best time of 11.11 seconds in the 100 metres. A personal best is the fastest time an athlete has ever achieved in a race. This amazing speed placed her sixth on the UK all-time list for the 100 metres. She also ranks eighth on the UK all-time 60 metres list.

Major Championships and Medals

Imani-Lara has won several important medals throughout her career.

European and World Championships

In August 2018, at the European Championships in Berlin, she finished sixth in the 100 metres final. However, she then won a gold medal with her team in the 4 × 100 metres relay.

At the 2019 World Championships in Doha, she reached the semi-finals of the 100 metres. A semi-final is a race that decides who goes to the final. Achieving Sub-11 Seconds and Olympic Success

However, she still won a bronze medal in the 4 × 100 metres relay.

After winning a bronze medal in the 100 metres at the 2024 British Athletics Championships, Imani-Lara was chosen for the Great Britain team for the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris.
