Imri Ziv (born September 12, 1991) is an Israeli singer and voice actor. He is often known simply as Imri. He became famous after winning the TV show HaKokhav HaBa. After his win, he represented Israel in the Eurovision Song Contest 2017 in Kyiv. His song was called "I Feel Alive". He finished in 23rd place in the final competition.

Imri's Life and Career
Early Life and Education
Imri Ziv was born in Hod HaSharon, Israel, on September 12, 1991. He went to Ilan Ramon High School. After high school, he completed his required military service. During this time, he sang in a musical band for the Israel Defense Forces. Later, he studied communication sciences at the Interdisciplinary Center in Herzliya.
Imri has a special talent for learning languages easily. He speaks fluent Spanish with an Argentinian accent. He learned this from his Spanish teacher, who was from Buenos Aires.
Starting His Music Journey

In 2012, Imri tried out for the first season of The Voice Israel. He sang a song called "Ahuvati". Two of the four judges, Sarit Hadad and Rami Kleinstein, chose him for their teams. Imri joined Team Rami. He sang "Parparim" in the Battle Rounds but was eliminated from the show.
Even though he didn't win The Voice Israel, Imri continued his music career. He became a backing vocalist for Israel's entries in the Eurovision Song Contest. He sang backup for Nadav Guedj in 2015 with the song "Golden Boy". He also sang for Hovi Star in 2016 with the song "Made of Stars". Both of these songs made it to the Eurovision finals.
In 2016, Imri also did voice acting. He provided the Hebrew voice for a character in the 3D animated movie Trolls.
Winning HaKokhav HaBa and Eurovision
In 2017, Imri took part in the fourth season of HaKokhav HaBa L'Eurovizion. This TV show is also known as "The Next Star for Eurovision". It's a singing competition where the winner gets to represent Israel at Eurovision.
During his audition on January 2 and 3, 2017, Imri sang "The Edge of Glory" by Lady Gaga. He received 93% of the public's votes. All the judges, including Keren Peles and Harel Skaat, approved of his performance.
In the quarter-finals, Imri sang "Rude Boy" by Rihanna. He got 72% of the votes. In the semi-final, he sang "I Don't Want to Miss a Thing" by Aerosmith. He earned 95% of the votes and moved on to the finals.
The final competition was on February 13, 2017. Imri first sang "Halo" by Beyoncé. He won 78% of the public's votes. Then, he sang "Because of You" by Kelly Clarkson. He won the entire contest with 74% approval.
After winning HaKokhav HaBa L'Eurovizion, Imri Ziv became Israel's representative for the Eurovision Song Contest 2017. His song for Eurovision was "I Feel Alive". Dolev Ram and Penn Hazut wrote the song. It was released on March 9, 2017. In the Eurovision semi-final, Imri placed third. In the grand final, he finished in 23rd place.
